Alexandrina Libraries, in conjunction with Friends of the Goolwa Library and the National Trust will offer a programme based on the theme of how libraries and the national trust can work together to bring history to their local communities.
1.00pm A copy of her book "History of the Library 1988-2000" will be presented to Trish Steele (former Library Manager)
2.00pm Kristin Weidenbach - will discuss her book "Mailman of the Birdsville Track" the story of Tom Kruse. Her books will also be available for purchase on the day. It is also hoped to show a DVD of Tom Kruse on the Birdsville Track.
3.30pm Afternoon Tea will be served.
4.00pm A portion of the original track of the Goolwa to Pt Elliot railway will be presented to the National Trust by Councillor Frank Tuckwell on behalf of the Mayor.
Elaine Watson from Strathalbyn Heritage Museum will also give a talk on their museum.
This series of functions is FREE.
